Two part wood edging.
This is a very useful do it yourself solution
for people wanting to make their own wooden edged worktops.
The removable bead allows you to screw the edging directly to
the raw edged of a square edged laminated worktop. The bead
is then stuck over the top to hide the screw heads. To make
the edging water resistant, you must also use PVA glue to cover
both of the surfaces being bonded. The screws are simply an
easy way to hold the edging to the worktop as the glue sets
off.
The two part edging comes in the nominal length of 2.8 metres. We offer unstained Oak, Maple or Pine options. This allows you to either just varnish the edging yourself or get some stain from the supplier of your kitchen doors to stain up the edging and then varnish it.
We also offer the more versatile options of either clear lacquered edging, or a staining service using some basic stains and then lacquer.
Solid Laminate panels
In our opinion these panels are fantastic. 6mm thick they are totally waterproof. We sell them mainly for use as vertical back panels to fill in the gap between the worktop and the under-side of the wall units. They make a good alternative to using tiles. You can have panels to match some of the Duropal worktop colours, alternatively you could use a contrasting colour.
The other big attraction is that no edging of the panels is required, you simply cut the panel to size and then rub down the exposed edge/s with wet and dry paper to produce a really nice smooth finish. When you want to fit panels around awkward shapes this is very useful.
They are available in two standard sizes either 4100 x 650 x 6mm or 2050 x 650 x 6mm.
These panels are also of great use in the bathroom or any other wet areas.

The reasons why we prefer to use solid laminate midway panels rather than the chipboard alternative are:
They are completely waterproof
Ease of fitting because there is no need to to edge the panels
Simply cut the panel to size and polish the raw edges with wet and dry paper to produce a nice finish
This means that fitting the panels around windows and the various odd shapes often found in kitchens becomes so much easier
They are great for use in bathrooms too.

Brushed aluminium end trims 640mm long, these are used if you have a laminated worktop up against an Aga or other such cooker, where the heat of the cooker/range is sufficient to melt the usual hot melt glue used to stick on laminate edgings. Being screwed on they stay in place a lot better and a lot longer.
Origin ~ solid laminate panels are available for the
entire range of Origin ~ decors sized 2800 x 650 x
6mm with a brown core for all Origin ~ decors except
TOR264/GRR9364 which is slightly longer, but narrower
at 3050 x 625 x 6mm with a brown core.
Upstand strips from the same material are available
at 2800 x 100 x 6mm with a brown core.
We do also supply full lengths of Origin~ or Duropal worktops, for those people that wish to save a little in cost and cut up the worktops or some of the worktops themselves.
