Worktops
Choosing worktops for your new kitchen can be a mind blowing task. For a start there are so many different materials used to produce worktops these days.
Needless to say there can be an enormous difference in price between the most exotic of materials like Corian or Granite and the more modest but far more practical laminated worktop.
In between there are worktops made of solid wood, reconstituted stone or marble, other composite worktops made from various plastics, larva stone worktops, concrete worktops, solid glass worktops, stainless steel worktops and no doubt others too.
The different materials can offer whatever sort of look it is that you can imagine, but quite possibly the cost might be more than you wish to pay.
That is where laminates come in to their own, they are perfectly capable of replicating the look and feel of most other materials at a fraction of the cost. Not only that but high pressure laminates are far more hygienic to use, last longer and have less staining problems.
So when thinking about worktops, think about how the worktop will behave in your kitchen and how it might look in a couple of year’s time.
