Support Legs for worktops

Sometimes laminated chipboard worktops require some support by adjustable legs. Co Tops offer two different lengths of support legs for worktops: 710mm for the underside of table height or 870mm to match the normal kitchen unit height. For both options of support legs for worktops there is an adjustable section at the very bottom of the leg that permits around 10mm of extra height to be achieved simply by screwing the base of the leg in or out.

Other solutions for producing support legs for worktops include just using a suitable sized bit of additional worktop as a vertical support. It is usually wise to reduce the depth of the vertical piece by 20 to 40mm to blend in with any kitchen carcass units. Alternatively, if adjacent to an appliance, then the depth of the vertical piece of worktop should be at least as deep as the appliance and the space required behind the appliance for pipework etc. The worktop should always be deeper that the appliance being fitted underneath it.

This is where the Origin 620mm deep worktop, which is available at exactly the same price as a 600mm worktop might help to provide a little more space for the pipework or electric supply that are required to be located behind the appliance.

Support legs for worktops are of course also extremely useful when making office desks. With this sort of application you could use a batten support attached to a wall and the underside of the worktop with two support legs for worktops at either end of the worktop at the front 710mm high. You can get purpose built nest of three drawers cabinet on wheels that can fit underneath the worktop at one end adjacent to one of the support legs for worktops.
